On Contemplating The Sky On A Summer’s Eve

Sparkle fair stars
Pulsating bright in evening’s sky.
Aristotle’s logic failed to find
Reason for your existence beyond science -
Known physics is universal. Though, for me,
Life is measured in unknowns and
Evening skies.

being a rationalist and very scientifically based in my approach to life i got a bit antsy about midway through this, but then you won me over with that absolutely lovely close... it is true life, certainly human life is measured in unknowns and evening skies...

    simple and beautiful Ruth...

i just love the feel of this piece- the subtle nuance of the final line- (which could be quoted again and again)
the beauty of the mind's eye on full
exhibition here. - there are far greater reasons.. yes.

Subtle, yet simple are the stars
Paraded nightly on the stage of darkness
    All take curtain calls as
    Rounds of applause die:
    Knowledge may measure their dimensions
Let them be actors and actresses
Each one, clear cast in silver.
