I like dark better than light,
There is more freedom in the night.
No prying eyes to watch me fall,
It's easy to hide from it all.
To hide from what I feel,
To hide from what is real.
For fantasy is better than a life,
Full of anger, pain, and strife.
The darkness makes me forget my past,
The regrets I've had for long last.
That's why I like darkness,
It helps let go, and to progress.

Awesome!
Wow that was a great poem. It kept me engaged, entertained and interested throughout the whole poem!
Even though I'm not particularly fond of the night, your poem made me think, that the night could be a good and refreshing way to prepare for a new day.
Maybe I will see night as more than just the end of another day.
Thank you for sharing and keep writing!
