It’s the way you feel
When I wrap you in my arms
It’s walking you home after that first date
And not even trying for more
That innocent smile when your fast asleep
All wrapped up in my blankets
While I face the cold night alone
It’s knowing in the morning
You will still be here
Like a good dream that never ends
It’s the way your smile
Brings butterflies all up in my chest
That feeling of safety
When I blow all your fears away
It’s the times we miss work
Just to spent all day
Wrapped up in each others arms
It’s an eightieth anniversary
Knowing my eyes have never strayed
And that there is never enough time
To give you all that I want to
It’s a bucket of friendship we never let go
A bottle of memories that never goes bad
It’s a ton of romantic movies while we cuddle up close
A night on the town with you in my arms
As we hit that dance floor
We may grow in years
‘But our hearts will forever be young
True beauty lies deep in your eyes
Where I stare mesmerized
True love is something that never dies
And this is what we have
Found it that moment your eyes met mine
My heart will never belong to
Anyone but you…

Author notes
I wrote this thinking of an old couple and what I would be like in the old mans shoes. And there's some similarities between me and the old man because he was always loyal and they lived a long time as a married couple and I believe that they are going to stay married till death do us part like it says in the wedding vows. Too bad not everyone takes marriage that seriously, but there is some old timers that know how to do things right. The guy reminded me of my gramps.
Please tell me what you think, but be considerate

this poem reminded me of my life the innocence of love and all that it promises the honesty between two people and their journey they are about to begin the closeness the trust that perfect way of feeling complete and nothing will ever break that partnership a fantastic write and yes when it all stays that way its great i know theres a flip side to bliss and its hell
