The Good Things In Life

Running around and being healthy,
It doesn't matter if you are not wealthy.
Loving someone who loves you back,
truly clears a cloud of black.

Flying canaries and deep blue skies,
kind filled and caring beautiful eyes.
These things make me feel all bubbly inside,
like everything's perfect, I've nothing to hide.

Double choc muffins and caramel fudge,
life is too short to hold a grudge.
It's not that you have the latest trends,
the important things are family and friends.

Author notes

It has come to my attention that so many people on all poetry are upset, depressed or just plain sad! This poem is an attempt to make them realize that all is not lost until your life has ended!
P.S. I give this advice to a few people now. If you write happy things, it makes you happy. Please try it as it really works!

The Bible says this life isn't all there is. Acts 24:15. Psalms 37:9,10,11. But your inspiration is much so appreciated.

So true! I loved the first stanza as well as the line "life is too short to hold a grudge." Too many people waste their time on the little things rather than the ones that truly matter, as your poem expresses.

Wonderful job I absolutely loved this. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing =]

" and the line about holding a grudge are my favorites. You are right: life is too short. Thank you for entering

This is really good. Symplistic, yet highly original.
My favourite stanza had to be the third stanza, for me it really stuck out.
    Thanks for entering!

    Hello.

A nice poem, although I do have to admit, stanza 3 line 1, sounds random, thus forced, I mean no offence by saying that. Overall I thought your poem was nice, and your Author Notes are very true indeed. An insightful statement.

Only a person can change what they feel, but if they are constantly focused on negative, then that is a feedback loop that reinforces perception which means all they see is negative and thus feel justified in what they thought in the first place. Not that I am saying do not be aware of negatives, just saying fix them and understand the inherent positive within them; be aware of them, but don't become them.

I wish you well in this contest.

    My regards.
