Its night right now and getting late
I'll write all day tomorrow.
There is so much I have to say
"Bout desire, joy and sorrow.
But if the sun is shining bright
Who wants to stay inside?
When the vege garden's growing well;
Its those weeds I can't abide.
The river's just a walk away,
There's always photos there,
I love to wander with the dogs,
Take pictures with great care.
Well, the workshop's in a rotten mess
Is it time to clear the bench?
I know there's been some problems
To find the right sized wrench.
I check the forecast on the net
Before I head off to bed;
There's frosty mornings coming
So there's work for me ahead.
We have two woodfires in our house
To keep a nice warm home
The chainsaw will get a workout
Before I'm free to roam.
I'll write again tomorrow night
When the day is nearly done
I may finish this by midnight
If no new distractions come.

Super poem, Bob.What i wouldn't give to be by a river. This tells the reader exactly what you are going to get up to over the next day. The humour hidden in the lines is delightful. The bench still in needing of cleaning. Love the rhyme and the rhythm it puts forth. I can feel the warmth of those two fires right now. No - I can picture them. Beautiful warm red flames, yellow flames, with a touch of blue. Cosy. There's that sunshine again. I need to catch me some of that. Anyway. This was beautifully written, down to earth, and definately wonderful poetry. Thumbs up again!

The Castlereagh is just at the bottom of the home paddock,600 yards or so. It is barely running if at all but it does have some deep holes where there fish. Its quite lovely down there. I would send you some pictures but my computers skill need work, lots of it.
Thank you once again for such a supportive review.
P.S. The sunshine will come, just be patient.

I would like to write everyday,but ---? I have a number of hobbies which have developed over the years and simply don't always have the time. I am a scribbler on bits of paper, notebooks etc and some poems get left in the workshop for a while before I get them edited for presentation. Its erratic but lots of fun. Thank you for commenting on my entry. Cheers.

It was not always like this. For a great many years everything I wrote was consigned to the rubbish bin by those close to me. I had no support at all. In the past eighteen months I have had tremendous support, encouragement and assistance. Keep writing and if you think you need help at all, ask for it. There are plenty of places that will help for free, and plenty of people too. Most of all, have fun writing. Thank you for your support. Even old guys like me need encouragement now and then. I appreciate it.
