Imagine

Strike the parchment
two times two,
words formed from thoughts
as if from clay

Fine young letters
imagined
by that of youth itself

Play through the air
as if on clouds of musical notes,
Heavenly clouds,
billowy sachets
upon which words lay.

    Quite imaginative!

Probably "as from clay" would read better than "as if from clay"
"by that of youth itself" => "by youth itself" ???
    Again, "as on clouds", perhaps.
I loved this poem, really. Compression in free verse is an admirable element, though.
Thank you for your airy literati!!!
Lyndon of the Winklings. All the very best.

What a delightful poem. It made me smile at the imagery of letter flying through the air like musical notes.

Beautifully done. Best wishes for the contest!

Forming thoughts from clay...making permanent, giving life to them, shape, meaning. Beautiful words Patrica. I think you forgot an "a" in the title.

My "a" is sticking lately, and sometimes I type faster than I can think. Unfortunately I miss when it sticks. Thank you for letting me know.
