forming between the cracks
in your lips as you vomit
words meant to compensate
for my undulated troubles.
(Not to help, though,
as you've made morphine-smoke
clear.)
Half-gone promises are
made barely coherent with
the reinforcement of
who-went-where and
why-I-was-there's.
(But it still doesn't
matter, because as far
as I'm concerned, the last
time you tried, failed, repeat,
it didn't affect your habits.)
