Sweet Trista is ill
yet bravely facing her challenges
Her story brings me to tears, knowing too much

If you believe

A special woman here has been sick, and getting sicker
She has been my friend since my first days at All Poetry

Even though she has been my AP Wife for years
she is not a lover, she is much MORE, a lasting friend

She is a great person that gives me counsel and care
A woman I respect for being a "Great Human"
and a transplant recipant, that fights each day to live her life

She is a fine poet
The Editor of my book, WOLFW
and my favorite Spelling Fairy.... lol

Please pray for her, as she faces her struggles, to remaine whole.

    I have no words, so I created a crystal-pendant for julie ... slightly pinkish lemurian seed crystal (the one with the "bar-codes" decorated with 12 genuine gem-beads : red garnet, ruby, orange carnelian, tigereye, yellow carnelian, emerald, turquoise, azurite, amethyste, rose quartz, cherry quartz and pearl ... all wrapped in gold-filled wire and tarnish-free argentium sterling silver wire ... maximum love and energy going julie's way ...

    Hi Rick...

    I've been by to read this every day since I came home, and it overwhelms me every time...I didn't want to get all choked up again, so this time I am commenting without reading first, lol.

    Thank you so much, my friend...for gathering so many around me...in whatever form of spirituality each person holds. I believe strongly in the power of prayer and positive energy...not so much that our every desire and request will be answered, but that He will give us what we really need in all cases, even if "the worst" happens.

    I was raised to believe none of us are given more than we can handle...my mom and I often joke, how we wish I wasn't quite so strong and able to handle so much. But even in my "down" times...like now...I see the blessings in my life, the friends I've made, and the support I have, to make it through anything...and hopefully come out the stronger for it.

    I'm deeply touched by all the words written on this page. Sometimes I don't even realize just how many friends I've made on AP, and how many others I "sort of" know, and how many others beyond that I "know of", as I don't believe there's a name here I don't, at the very least, recognize. When it comes to this, however...the prayer of a stranger is just as powerful as a friend's, so I am thankful to each and every person who has, and does, leave a comment here or simply says a silent prayer for me...again...in whatever form of religion or spirituality they believe in.

    I'm also very humbled by the words you've written...both above and in the comments. [Except...what's this about my "excessive" love and care for cats and animals??? ] But seriously...I'm honored by your high praise of me...and totally sure I don't deserve it all...but thank you none the less. You are such a treasure to me, and I thank God for joining us as AP husband and wife and great friends most of all. I expect I still have a long road ahead of me...it's incredibly reassuring to know I have you and so many others who will most certainly see me through it all.

    I'm new to this site so I'm not familiar with Trista, but this poem is very touching. The opening lines I found particularly beautiful:

    Here is a healing prayer.

    “Heavenly Father, You are intimately aware of the struggle I am experiencing -- the pain and the despair. You know the desire of my heart to be healed of this illness. I ask now for Your healing touch. I know that You are able and that just like in Bible times, You can heal me.

    “I also understand that You will chose what is best for me. I pray that through this trial, I will draw close to You -- that You will be my comfort and strength. I pray that ultimately, whatever happens, You will be glorified through me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”

      Our prayers must be working
      cause she was reliesed from the hospital
      but she has to return in a few weeks
      after evulation, for more treatment
      hopefully with a good outcome

      so her immune system is always somewhat compermised
      Her story is on her page

      My worry is that she not loose a foot from an terable infection she has now
      That is why she is hosplised
      This is a lot for a young woman to think of

      She has had an infection in her foot for 6 months
      She does not do well because of her transplant drugs
      The conquences are dire, if it does not heal
      so I worry for her

    Ugh... I saw Julie yesterday as she was getting ready to go to the doctor. She packed her bags just in case she had to stay longer, which I'm afraid is the case.

    She's a flipping awesome aunt and I look at her as a friend more than anything. She's closer to me than most of my "best friends forever" at school because she's such an amazing person.
    We share a lot of the same interests and you have no idea how much of an amazing aunt she is.
    Hell yeah for Julie!

    Ever since she's joined AP, she's been able to meet up with a lot of other great poets like herself and I think she loves this place (i know it!)
    And you're one of the great poets she's met and gotten along with quite well, Rick.

    Ahhh, she looks so pretty in that pic
    I wish she didn't have all these darned health problems that make her life such a hell at times. But, that's why she has friends like you && family, right?

    She's sooooo in my prayers right now.
    I hope it turns out, too.

    You wrote a real piece and it's great to know you care, as well as others too.

    Julie........I am so glad I got to talk to you on the phone today.......I heard the pain in your voice.......but it won't be there for long.....God is going to take care of those problems you're facing!

    I believe He has a plan for you......He always uses bad things for His and OUR good........just wait and see!

    Praying as I type!

    Sometimes all we have is prayer. I know a special novena I like to say for special occasions I will say it for Trista. She is so beautiful! I will check out he link too. May God Bless you and her (in fact us all) spiritually and temporally!
