Just Keep Breathing

He's just barely fifteen but he's having a feeling he can't explain.

Always so angry and doesn't know why.

Everyone looks down on him and he doesn't quite fit in.

Head pounding with so much rage.

The hatred for those who taunted him built up inside.

Everyone knows he's falling apart but he acts like he doesn't care.

Going down a dangerous road with no where to turn.

They all thought he was fragile but he'll prove them wrong.

He doesn't believe in much anymore.

His father is nowhere to be found and his mother fading quickly.

He whispers to her"Just Keep Breathing Momma,Just Keep Breathing".

She died the next morning but with her last breathe she said,

"Do not let them deny you from everything you are worth"

He now lives instead of barely existing.

His story is being written day by day by his own hand.

  • Powerful.

This is a really nice poem. It is very inspirational. I love how in the beginning of the poem he lost hope but after his mother died he grew stronger. I think this is amazing. Don't delete it I think it's awesome!!

    Inspiring

Wow, I think this is a very powerful and emotional poem. The sadness and anger are present and seem to build in intensity. The title seems to be more of a mantra to the writer than just a line in the poem. To me, it seems to give the boy in the story/song strength to carry on after the loss of his mother.
Her words are also inspiring. They gave him strength to live. This boy has somehow risen above and taken back his life despite what others have taken from him with their taunting, despite his not believing much anymore. I love the way that the 'end' is really a beginning. The start of his story as he writes day by day.
This is a beautiful poem. Do not delete it. I think it is lovely.

btw, I found the link to this poem at your question on Yahoo Answers!
