The 22-year-old Bomb

Years have gone by and he still hasn't changed.
Always so frustrating, his mind so deranged.
I wish he'd let me be
Forever in my way, ALWAYS is he
Yes I know I owe him due respect, because he is my father
I understand all that
But iys like he's made to constantly bother
like a roach that somehow lives after the shoe's 'SPLAT!'

I take so much attitude
and its funny we share the blood.
Oblivious that it hurts me, yeah he can be that crude.
His words sometimes though clean, stain like mud
I want to tell him off so bad,
just to prove that he truly acts this way.
But all he'd do is toss it in my face
as though I were the ungreatful cad.

Oh but the detinatoer's clock is running thin, going down.
Lady Fate will deal her good fortune my way.
The day i'll be old enough to make you the silly little clown,
the one you seem to think I am today.
You'll be an old fart by then,
I will be expierienced, smart, and pretty.
I'll smile and laugh so well they'll rate me a ten.
Because I made it through even though you made my life terribly shitty.

I cannot WAIT to tell that man to shut up and listen!!!! For all the teen girls who have trifflin dads, I SOOOOOO feel your pain.

    Hi Poetess,
    These lines made me smile,

“You will be an old fart by then,
I will be experienced, smart, and pretty.
I'll smile and laugh so well they'll rate me a ten.
Because I made it through even though you made my life terribly shitty.”

I don’t know your circumstances so I can’t really make a judgement. I know you are strong and determined and that you have your own agenda, this shines through in your poetry. Perhaps you are difficult for him to understand. As an artist, you must expect some stormy relationships. Do you really want a quiet life? I hope, that deep down, your father is secretly proud of his daughter, I know I would be if you were my daughter.

Keep writing, have a wonderful summer.
    Life is good,
    Kind regards, Peter
