If I had a nickel for every time I waited
Until the candles burned to nothing, and my makeup had worn
Before I turned off the lights and stumbled up to our bed alone
If I had a nickel for every night I cried into your pillow
And tried to imagine something that could have kept you
Besides her
If I had a nickel for every time that I forgave you
I might be able to buy your love

this is so heartbreaking. it's short, and usually I like longer pieces but this was wonderful. the repetition was amazing and just overall this whole concept is amazing. great write.

So so sad, heartbreakingly simple and so beautiful.
"I might be able to buy your love" Exquisite. Quite a beautiful write.
