Grim are the truths we hide from ourselves,
Only the bold and the foolish dare face them,
For they are the nightmares that haunt the soul,
The thorn that worms in our entrails, burns,
Teaching us with the lesson of pain, judge not
For one day it will be our head resting on the block,
It will be how we live that will dictate our reaction,
Whether we watch in calm or restless of heart,
Either way the executioners axe will descend from above,
So we will end this journey and begin another,
Taking the path that the heart decides, desires
Lessen regret so as not to be unduly daunted,
For fear kills the mind but worse weakens the heart,
A heart weakened will not find the rewards of dreams,
Just a resting place in the grey towers of Ikky,
And clarity will be but a lamented aspiration,
Intangible and touched only by fingers of vague hope,
Sad will be the passing....
Into the twilight, lavender, shadowed and surreal,
Neither day nor night, an eternity in between,
Reason, the tool of mind will find no solace here,
For infinity defies boundaries, concepts and logic,
It exists as the fertile breading ground of creation,
Only opposing realities, paradigms give birth to newness,
Singularity ever winds the paths that lead to stagnation,
Paradox and entropy are the powers that move life,
Forward into uncertain futures that seethe with potential,
An intricate dance that even gods stumble and falter,
For no being holds sway, or controls ultimate power,
No single power guides the wave of was, is, and will be,
All merely ride it, part of the tapestry....

Found this work to be very thought provoking and rich in language skills. I really loved the line:
'Grim are the truths we hide from ourselves,
Only the bold and the foolish dare face them'
This shows how weak we can be when we stick our heads in the sand. Also how thin the line is between bravery and foolhardiness.
I also loved:
'Forward into uncertain futures that seethe with potential'
The optimistic energy in this line ripples with the fear of expectation. Superbly done.
