From the whispers that are heard from this and others mouths they said
"... and all that remained was his shadow on the wall..."
while they look at the girl her hair spilling over her face
as the tears she sheds stain her silken dress
Turning away from her so that she can have some privacy
they watch her carefully before saying
"... as she sits alone on her bed and plays a beautiful mournful tune."
watching her delicate pale hands strum the guitar
Shaking their heads as they take down notes
marking her motions and expressions while she concentrates
wondering if she will show any sign of regret or mourn for him
while she just seems calm
Author notes
