Exhortation

Why are you there shaking your head?
Can't God raise a man from the dead?
You believe He created from nothing,
So raising the dead isn't anything.

If He can use a donkey to speak the truth,
Then you, my friend, have your proof.
If He can use a jackass to make His plea,
Then He can use either you or me.

He used a donkey to carry the King,
While the crowd about would shout and sing.
So carry the Lord in your heart;
Let Him come through with each shout.

As you live with Him each day
Make disciples along your way;
He gave us power for this function,
Naming the Father, Son and the Unction.

We pray the Father His kingdom come,
Yet we won't follow His only Son;
If we want His reign o'er the earth,
His reign must start in us first.

We call Him "Lord", yet don't submit,
Quenching the life of His Spirit;
I, for one, will start with repentance,
Since He chose to not pass sentence.
