I live to see
the gray cat dozing
and new red roses
Renewal each morning when
I walk out the door to begin
the next step in my journey.
For freedom of thought, I live,
with a pencil;
sustained by sunsets
And kindness;
through dark, I pray,
survive for sunrise
I hope for progress
with pure appreciation
for its achievement
I live for people who need me
and some who claim to, merely;
still I want to be for myself.
I wait to dance in the air, figuratively;
reach towards song, and listen
for laughing, literally
Creativity, certainly; I wait for grandkids,
live for children, nephews, elderly,
the mentally ill
The impoverished, people to
whom I have nothing to give
and others who I try assist
I thrive on natural beauty,
sublime; cry a river when
opportunity appears denied
I've visions that may
or may not exist;
yet I wish
To show my gratitude for all that is,
with a love offering;
joy talking modern ballet
Perfectly peaceful blue snowflakes,
gardenia flowers, opalescent moonstones
a smooth toned living ballad
Crooned in a soothing way;
live for heaven, earth and sea,
facets of humanity which
are always worth the wait.
