Nobody's Toy

I scribble your name in muffled chalk
Broken hearts aligned perfectly on the face of my sidewalk
Here I wait patiently for the rain to come
& inattentively wash you away.

I knew from the beginning it was a mistake
But I ignored my conscience and put my love at stake
I offered all I could...& you dauntlessly kept taking.

[...Let go]
It’s easier said than done, it’s simpler to dream than face reality
But maybe I’m sick and tired of questioning my thoughts
And wondering what this “relationship” could ever be
So you can hide your faults and regret the things you’ve done
If it makes you feel secure and a much stronger boy
But I’m sick and tired of feeling this way
So I promise & guarantee you I won’t be anybody’s toy.

You guiltlessly move in [too] close again
Addicted to your presence...I won’t push you away but I’ll let you in
I’m giving all my soul can give...& you don’t even care.

[...Move on]
It’s easier said than done, it’s simpler to dream than face reality
But maybe I’m sick and tired waiting for you to appear
And inquiring what this moment will ever mean
So you can run away and hold your head up high
If it makes you feel dependable and such a stronger boy
But I’m sick and tired of feeling torn down
So I promise & guarantee you I won’t ever be anybody’s toy.

I scribbled your name with the dull chalk
Fractured hearts aligned perfectly on the face of my sidewalk
I still wait for the rain to come
& inattentively wash you away.

If it were only that easy!!

    Chalk sales would increase dramatically.

    ooohhh :)

Hewbert Charlie Sue! Why the hell didn't you tell me I didn't freaking comment this?? Gawd. Turn yer brain on every once in a blue moon, kay?

I loved the metaphor of 'washing' these jerks away. From our mind, our heart, our memories. It takes a helluva lot of strength to let go .. and honestly? We can handle A LOTTTT of shit before we've finally had enough. Not many people have that much patience, ya know?

*I won’t push you away but I’ll let you in
I’m giving all my soul can give...& you don’t even care.*

Love those lines. Amazinggg. It's like guys are made without feelings inside.

*So you can hide your faults and regret the things you’ve done
If it makes you feel secure and a much stronger boy
But I’m sick and tired of feeling this way
    So I promise & guarantee you I won’t be anybody’s toy.*

Hahahaha wow. FREAKING EXACTLY. They think they can just dodge shit they don't wanna face all their life and they CAN'T.

And we are soo done being used.

    This was awesome!!

I agree with Rose, the lines:
