Lustre

I remember the sound of it,
if I listen to the rain it paints me sheer,
an opalescence when I shone just for you

was there a time you noticed
tangled hair on your pillow
or how the light caught curtains
breeze stepping in to say hush

we were bathed in it,
exploring the intricate lines
and balance of it all

there was a finger of spine,
a vestige of thigh
and your lips
you left me colorless
faded from bloom

in satin seas
I danced figure eights,
flowing across alabaster
I was the zephyr
that whispered the secrets
of your purity

consciousness was lost
somewhere in sensual euphoria
like doves in silvered snow
we were stranded in each other
with only heat to melt us home

ivory dripped as pearls
rippled across the candescence
of impassioned crystals
and I harvested the promise of a sequel

I did not really ntice any stylistic change between the two halves, so well done on that score. It is a pity the poem is marred by a major grammatical error: "when I shined just for you"; the past tense of "to shine" is "shone".

However "shined" is also an acceptable form of the word here.

'Lustre' is a sexy word. I'm not sure why, it just is.

Jesus, this entire poem reeks of sensual...kiwigirljacks could have written it...HAHAHAHA, but it's very nicely done.

    "paints me sheer"
    Like this...sounds poetic.

"an opalescence when I shined just for you"
'Opalescence'...one of those words you can never use in real life. :/ But nice!!

That second stanza feels like song lyrics...pretty cool.

    "I was the zephyr
    that whispered the secrets
    of your purity:
Wow, you are dirty if my interpretation is accurate. 'Zephyr' is an awesome word!!

"and I harvested the promise of a sequel"
Kick-ass ending (if not totally dirty...I mean sensual)

I love the poem's title, and the message you've portrayed. This beautifully thoughtful and sensitive piece brings to mind the closeness of soulmates in love especially as we encounter our lives within one another every day as we live our lives on earth.
