Desperate hands reaching skyward
Begging, praying for salvation.
Bound by chains of despair
Desperate souls turn to God.
In the darkest days they call
In whispers, screams, and choking sobs
Their broken prayers they send above
As their faith lightens their hearts.
“He has a plan” they tell themselves
when they don’t come out unscathed
And in the end this grants some peace
True or false, it matters not.
Humanity shall always struggle
With the timeless questions
But perhaps it is faith that matters
Not simple existence.
