How do I explain
A girl who exists in my mind?
How do I explain
The girl who I claim to be mine?
Her eyes are of the palest blue,
Her skin is less than perfect.
If this girl was really real,
Then my heart would surely have it.
Her smile has the perfect shyness,
But really, none of this has any meaning.
Its what's inside of her
That has me sitting here dreaming.
She seems to always know when to make me smile.
She catches my attention when she passes by.
She always knows exactly what to say,
Damn, God really got her right this time.
I guess somewhere along the line,
I fell weak.
She's the girl of everybody's dreams,
She's the girl I get to keep.
I'm not conceited,
I'm not getting ahead of myself.
This girl is in my mind,
I would never be able write without her help.
Maybe the reason she's not real,
Is because that wouldn't be fair.
I know God has this plan for someone,
Someone must be waiting up there.

Author notes
Ah, the wonders of the muse. A muse does not necessarily need to be a real person or thing. It can be a song or a thought that ponders through your mind. It really shouldn't matter what your muse is because in the end, the muse becomes reality through what you write. Besides, I think it's time to write about those blue eyes that keep coming up in my poems. ^^
