The children are starving.
Can you see their bones?
No, I cannot.
Then how do you know?
Their hearts are beating slowly.
Can you hear their hearts?
No, I cannot.
Then how do you know?
Tears are dripping from their eyes.
Can you see their tears?
No, I cannot.
Then how do you know?
But the children are starving!
Can you see them?
No, I cannot.
Then how do you know?
Author notes
We are here in Canada, while the starving children are far away and we think that this rectifies us when we do nothing.
