Do you have to hurt me every time
Just to prove that you're alive
Can you just stand there without a sound
And tell me that we're fine
These tears to me are painful
And you know this to be true
You're the one who calls the shots
But I'm the only one who hurts for you
It's like were standing on the edge
A hundred feet off the ground
We have to make a choice
Whether only one or both fall down
Then I feel your hand on my back
When you promise that we'll leave
And suddenly I'm falling through
The air where your arms should be
Do you have to hurt me every time
Just to win this silly game
Just for you to show the world
That you aren't feeling shame
It's too much to bare for burdens
It's too much for a heart to take
And I regret the fact that this decision
Isn't one for me to make
You won't let me go
You're keeping me caged
And because my wings are weighted down
I just can't fly away
But,
Do you have to hurt me every time
Even a weed would surely die
You take for granted what I've given
And what I've given is my life
So will you end up running
When you find that it's too late
To save this girl whose loved you truly
When she dies for a liars sake?

Oh boy... this is exactly what I was thinking of when I started the poem. I am very impressed, and could have written it myself to my own personal disaster. Love can really suck. Thank you so much for entering.
