Always

In this house that has no door, the mirrors are always broken.

In these halls that have no end, the air is always heavy.

In these rooms that hold no secrets, the words are always silent.

Silk rustles with steady steps, she walks the miles of path alone.
In the cold air, her breath freezes, a lovely white smoke before vanishing.
She’s been here forever; eternity and a day, her skin fine and translucent with years.
Yet her gown remains unsullied, her hair un-despoiled. She is perfect, ageless.
The faerie queen of a forgotten realm. Silent words in her eyes,
The plea she will not speak. No. She will wait in graceful silence, undemanding.
For whom does she wait? The walls seem to whisper. A secretive smile is her reply,
But she says nothing. For she will wait an eternity more, and then a day past that,
For the lover who promised his someday return, and left with a kiss to her hand.

And in this place that hides her tears, the shadows are always deep.

In this circle that holds her within, the lines are always drawn.

In this world of her own devise, she will always wait for him.

Author notes

I have no idea. Please don't ask me where that came from, I generally just write, rambling on about whatever comes to mind.
