When the peace is gone, will I still smile?
Will I still find the will, the meaning inside?
Will I remember before, when we were still happy?
You say that we’re strong, we can take this,
We’ll win.
I want to believe you, really I do. But doubts
Touch my mind, bringing bitter cold fear.
When the peace is gone, will I remember us
As we were and smile to see your face within
My mind?
I pray that it is so. Because if you tell me
There’s no hope, I’ll break; I’ll shatter inside
And my heart will go to pieces. Reassure me please.
I need to feel the trust in you, to believe in light past
The dark.
So tell me that there still is hope, and show me
There’s life. A reason to go on, to fight. All I
Need from you is a touch of your hand on my cheek,
And to see your smile. The words “We’ll always be this way,”
Are all I need to hear.
