[untitled]

I am in a desert too bleak for laughter,
and too poisonous for vision.
No one can survive here but me.

Her hands graze the back of my neck
leaving trails of soft light to linger
like milk in a starved world of dirtied martinis and muddy socks.

In her eyes are perfect discs of an unattainable blue
and in mine are wells of green sorrow.
How they succumb to one another is where the beauty will be found.

We walk to different rhythms on different planes,
and the collision at the intersection leaves piles of remnant debris.
Something I never imagined could be built is beginning to take shape here.

Her arms coil around my shoulders like ice on my back
and i fall into another.
My nose braises her bare stomach, downward.
My mouth burns with bitter tangerines, i thirst.
