Don’t worry around me,
For I’ll protect you from all foes.
The skeletons in my closet don’t harm,
And paranoia doesn’t sting.
Naivety is recommended with me,
Ignorance is bliss is my grand scheme.
Step over the lifeless bodies,
That line my political path.
Use them as stepping stones,
That wind their way up to the top,
Of the social ladder.
The fires won’t reach me nor the blades;
But they will cut and burn you my minions.
Fight my paranoid war don’t concern yourself,
With individual thoughts.
Keep the heart and the mind constantly,
Disconnected and isolated from one another.
Don’t blame me when you’re alone.
I was just trying to save you,
From yourself and other mankind.
Don’t listen to them son,
I am your only hope now.

Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums - A Perfect Circle
I saw this song as being against political figures & against individual thinking, I hope it's ohk though.

I like your take on the song, tis interesting and upon further reflection I must concur with your view...I think the poem is well written with good use of imagery that conveys the meaning quite well, it has a sheltering controlling feel much like the song...well done and good luck
