Tossing caution to the wind, we ran like the teenagers we were. High on fizzy drinks and bravado, we flew kites in the mist of hurricanes[just waiting for the eye of the storm]. The gravel in our shoes sounded like a symphony as we rushed along the tracks; trying to avoid the third rail. We blazed like super novas, and fell just as fast. Knowing all along where we were headed. We laughed in the face of derailment and sang so nonchalantly to the melody of life[disappointment]
Now without out you it all seems like the days before. When love didn't exist and didn't need to. Train spotting is all but eventful, but baby you were my third rail.

Great poem OneLastThing--x. It's quite unusual, as in the format and the subject, but it was very good nonetheless. Sounds a bit dangerous if you really did run along train tracks, but I do understand the meaning. Well done. Good luck in the contest

best wishes as always

Wow, this reminds me of the song ...But Home Is Nowhere by AFI. Have you heard it? I really like this though, great description. I feel a part of what you're saying, and it connects deeply to me. *bookmarks* now I can read this whenever I'm down and missing some memories of mine.
Great write
