If I had to tell you the biggest lie I’ve ever told someone else
We’d be here for hours
If I told you that was a lie,
What would you think of me?
I was talking to a new friend once about lying
They said lying was fantastic
Lying is great
You can be whatever, whoever you want to be
You can make things seem better or worse
Lies are like socks
You start off with two
One is the truth,
The other a little white lie
In the wash you lose one
The white socks get caught up with all the others
And it’s hard to find the truth to makes things better
Lies are tricky and sneaky
They leave you with an unsettled feeling
They stay in your stomach, get mixed around
And lies cloud your head
Lies are like forests
Bigger trees
Bigger lies
It’s very easy to get lost
And very hard to find your way out
The biggest lie, would that be
The one with the worst consequences
Or the lie furthest from the truth?
Author notes
This is based on a warm up from my English class at school. The prompt was "The biggest lie you've ever told" Mine ended up very different from what I first thought.
The title is from a song, "Lies are much more fun" by The Grates. "No I'll never believe the truth in you, lies are much more fun"

Very thought-provoking. I especially like the final lines:
The biggest lie, would that be
The one with the worst consequences
Or the lie furthest from the truth?
Very good question.
Thank you for entering my contest.
