Sands of Time




Our hearts entwined
standing on the threshold
of forever – eternity’s kiss
brushes against our lips.

With time coiled in springs
wetting fevered dreams
of many things forgotten –
I remember you.

We bathe our feet
in skies filled with stars
like dust scattered on
seas of ink that wash ashore
to meet horizon’s bend.

We run our hands
through sands of time
counting each a day
until they are empty.

In that moment when
the last grain falls
through the hourglass
and the universe forgets
I will be there
dreaming of you.

    the freer I become and the more I surrender to the mysteries of the Universe ... The marvel is: even though we often lose, we gain in nearness to the final Hour, when all our dreams become the reality of Truth and of Beauty. It is when Beautiful Truth stands before us, with our souls reunified with our Creator, that we will at last truly experience the totality of Eternity's welcome kiss ...

    I so loved the metaphors in this write. It touched my soul.

    This is why I can't stop reading your work. An absolutely enchanting poem you have written. A very lilting and dreamy feel to this piece and the wording and imagery fits perfectly. I felt like I was drifting through the piece and then the end felt so strong. I LOVED the third stanza...it is my favorite of the piece, such a beautiful picture you have painted in my mind.
