birthday's gracious gesture,

Callouses spread, split
caverns of quixote's paradise-
another two day tenure of
sowing poppy fields without winks.
Switches twitch again, on/off/on,
a devious sequence for petty theft
and human's bleeding edge instinct,
persistence's attrition.
Of this third month,
girth of load falters,
fallen lame, the conjurer
produces the burn, an alcoholic's binge ...
... a depressive, iconoclastic
BANG! for his Buck;
At last, rest never felt so peaceful
upon golden clouds and chorus refrain.
