He said to come a little closer; he wanted to whisper
sweet things in my ear. I knew better &
decided to run
to the other side of the house;
tag he's it.
Of course he caught me
in no time & laughter
fell hard to the floor; died in unblinking eyes.
He drew me closer, gently pressed his forehead to mine;
& he kissed me. Not just your average, every day
kind of kiss; but that deep, desperate swallow of lips.
We made love right there. Proving once again
that marriage is not an end, but an ever new beginning.

We have just learned how to stay that way.
I often say that he must be the only one in the world that piss me off good one minute, and the next have me lauging my ass off.
