heat pulsing through my veins
as anger rises
pain from hurts past colliding
with present new
bitter sadness is mine
the torch of my unfailing love
turning to burn the heart that holds it
as searing pain rips through me
spirits dance in unrelenting continuance
agony is the song they sing
melting in the fires from whence they came
my soul is cold as ice in flame
pounding in my head
the heat subsides
leaving only the freeze of wintery retribution
screaming (can't you hear me scream?)
for the love of mine that was
to return
and replace this monstrous beast of growing hatred
phantom of the feelings I held so dear
twisted torture
slowly killing the angel that once lived
bitter sadness is mine
"bitterness is like drinking poison and then waiting for the other person to die"

I love when people vent poetry...It's the best time for them to write, because then it's just raw feeling without the worries of what sounds better or whatever. This. Is. AWESOME! I love the quote at the end...it kind of brings the rest of it into full view and adds a bit of closure. I LOVE THIS PIECE!! Great work and BOL in the contest!
God bless,
