My prince and I stood on the shore
of the holy pine-shaded lake,
The sky glowing like it ne'er had before
leaving the cries of the larks in its wake.
The winds from the East were stirring then
with the sound of a thousand sighs.
We could see the threat of an ominous storm when
a hellfire fell from the skies.
We ran up the granite stair to the manor
though down it the rain did slide.
Recounting the change from calm dusk to clamor,
we lovers made our way inside.
Author notes
This is a piece I wrote to help me break my writer's block. Thanks to Eusebius who gave me the challenge to write this. I sincerely recommend his work, it is amazing.
