for countless years he held me
within his warm embrace
and my fragile heart had become
addicted to his love.
His passion fueled my desires
his words sank me deeper
further into the dark places of love.
our thoughts slowly became one song
that bore the lyrics of romance
and each time he touched me
it made the very core of me dance.
and then like lightening
the chain was broken
and my heart became an empty tomb
that bore nothing but the cold ashes of love.
my heart became a bitter spirit
that lurked the air seeking revenge
and the feelings i once knew
became a distant memory.
the books of love we published
became venomous tales
that resurrected emotions
of passions that once ruled our world;
Love had become the adversary.
she clung to the walls of my heart
and like a cankerworm,
she devoured the foundations we had built
for the sparks of love which once was
were forever lost within the bitter pages of time,
Love was lost ,
Again.
