You are My Sunshine!

Mommy, I know it maybe
the wrong time,
but I'm here
to show you life
that was meant for you

When I'm born
You'll know true love
I'll never
make you feel lonely
I'll always be
someone to hold
Someone to tell you
I love you

We'll wrap our arms
around each other
feeling like
a million miles away
from all the pain
this world brings

When it's time,
and you first see me
you'll be amazed
that finally someone
loves you
unconditionally

    HOODWINKED !!!

This is a wonderful Anti-Abortion poem, written in the voice of the unborn child. You are so right, children have a way of loving that is unlike most others. There is a Mother/Child bond that defies reason but it is there and so strong. Good thoughtful write!

You have been Hoodwinked today by the Poetic Bandits because WE CARE!

    So heartfelt!

A truly wonderful write from the unborn to the pensive Mom! I love how this transitions from the child comforting mother to when they can have that bond known only to them. When the mother first looks at her newborn there's that feeling of unconditional love [unless Mom is ill!] & the knowledge that she's loving & being loved. Bravo for this! Your poem should be in all counseling places where pregnant teens & woman go to think about abortion!

This is so very sad I dont know what to say really as a mother who has bury a baby I know the pain that comes with losing a child and in life sometimes there is no other option nothing can be done but I am not A God or do I want to be but I will say this as a mother that has a surving child life is the greatest gift each and everyday I hold and cherrish her and am very greatful for what I have it should not be thrown away,But again I am not saying I agree with abortion or not but you have to take what lifes offer you and hope nad pray for the best if I would of known that my daughter was sick in utero the way she was would I have terminated my pregnancy I don't know the answer at this point but I am glad that she was here I am glad that I held her and cuddled her and smelled her and loved her even if she was already gone when they handed her to me she knew nothing but love.

i couldnt abort... i have lost a child and i wrote this as what all my son brought to me... my point was the child saying to young moms that sometimes a child can help you.. not that i think people in trouble should go get preg but if they find them selves preg then find a way to bring that child into life... my son held me together for so long... i should have worked on myself then but i didnt so now i pay but because of him i survived this long...! thank you for your comment... and hugs....!

Oyyyyyyyy! You grabbed the heartstrings and tugged with this one! I sat here looking at this contest, for I don't know how long, and you know, since I don't believe in abortions, had a hard time trying to figure out what to write. My daughter in law had to have one a while back, as it was a tubular pregnancy and her life was in danger, I don't know how she feels about that, and not sure I could do it even then...

    This is really good...

Best of luck in this contest!

    and love

    Nyetta
