Is this what he wanted,
is this how he wanted it to end.
His enemies would win,
and he'd lose his haithful friend.
He sits and thinks and talks to himself,
his thoughts spill to the page,
and the storm of death and rage.
It comes to calm,
as he witnesses his own ugliness take the stage.
"Eye for an eye,
lie for a lie.
I say what's the point",
as he roles another joint.
Doowning in his sea of sorrow,
no more time shall he borrow.
He cannot let this end in madness,
cannot let this end in sadness.
"It seems our friendship now is filled with anger, hate and lies,
so shall I turn and walk away and sever these dark ties."
Moon light shines he sits in wonder,
wondering if this was all a blunder.
Writes his final words detailing all his passion and his fear,
says that they should sever and see what happens in a year.
He tries to make the anger and the suffering decrease,
and all he really wants is to bring this back to peace.
They both get up,
and turn their backs to walk in a different direction.
Feeling pain and misery,
with thoughts of their rejection.
Author notes
This poem was spawned from the track Burden on Opeth's Watershed and it seems a minor idea is going to turn into an epic series because my work here's not done.
