Love
it toys with our hearts
brings chaos to our starts
beats slaps an punishes
still we seek to know its arts
timeless
longing
Hear the void of the unloved
a forward retreat in the night
eyes cry out in lonely sight
immutable
lost
The hunger for a love
rushing through our veins
grasping at our reigns
unstoppable
absorbing
and when we find this
love
it takes us soaring higher
punishing
consuming like a fire
defining
redesigning
and we must have this
love
it rules us
misuses, abuses
once forever
it cruises
and we always come back for more
love

I agree with "Serenity", a very well written beat piece, which depicts so much truth to how it really is.
Love is one of the most complex simplicities known to (wo)man. Because, there is not one thing simple about it.
Nicely penned!!!

This write makes a wonderful spoken word poem, one that should be read with vehemence, and punch in from of a large group of snapping fingered neo beatniks! I love it, even though it does not fit the purpose of this contest, and think you should do it at a reading in a small dingy coffee shop somewhere on open mic night! LOL Good...damn skippy.

Thanks for entering my contest. The rhyming seems extreemly forced in some places. I wish you much luck.
