The sun was an orange discus
thrown into the sky by Apollo,
until it came crashing down
to the horizon a flamingo pink.
~
There are a lot of hovering
pictures in the clouds, sometimes
you have to use your imagination:
I think I see my neighbor's
lost dog, look there's a dragonfly,
and back in the distance, Anne's face.
Don't take it too literally,
but I think I saw God on the moon.
He was watering flowers
and waving good-by to the sun.
