A fishing craft, it seems at best,
yet Cosmic Runner might confess
to interplanetary feats,
floating consciousness, she greets.
Aye, ocean energy rebounding,
her masts reach up to all surrounding
and the devils of the deep
have no power, toil nor reap.
Fueled by mystic strength unknown,
this boat can do more than is shown
as messages and visitors appear
and change the world from year to year.
So look for such a craft, please do.
She may be searching now, for you.

I LOVE the ending. You had a great choice of words and phrases throughout 'interplanetary feats' 'energy rebounding' etc. But the ending leaves you with that feeling of adventure and a slightly deeper meaning. This makes the boat more than just a vessel, but a metaphor for how we should look at all things in life. Delightful!

A good begning to learn about boats
It would be difficult to really imagine a boat or a ship until one has worked on it.
Sailing too has many sail angles to it.
Fighting as a pirate becomes all the more complicated.
For a muse let it be like a pirate dream.

I love the happy feel to this! Wonderful words and rhyme!
Excellent!!
best wishes in your contest.

A mystical ship that transcends the elements, at home in the cosmos whether by land or sky or sea, disguised as a shrimp boat. Very smart! and those little wizened men asleep in the hold during the day come to life at night with their glowing eyes and alien fingers at the controls beaming us up like shrimp in a net. So imaginative!

I love your sci-fi take on the sea and what might be. Beautiful poem, dear Melodies!

Marilynn, you always please me, but sometimes you delight me. This poem has charm AND strength - not many writers can do that.
Unpronounceable likes it too
... and she's from outer space.

Thank you for your enthusiastic comment because I hoped a real spaceman would visit my poem and lend his approval.
I would return some clappys but this borrowed computer does not do everything and that is not my fault. I might spam my own poem, though.
