2008 by Elizabeth Darkwell
She waits upon her perch
for the one who will catch her
but the one must soar to the highest peak
Many have tried to make the climb
to gain her attentions
but the one who will must have special wings
Her suitors, though many, do not compare
to the mate she will choose
but the one must be preened and sing to her
One day he will come from afar
and she will attract him
but the one must be ready to face the challenge
Til then she waits
for the one who will love her
but the one must not wait too long
to catch the Raveness

i was wondering why you chose this title, but now i know why lol. very well written poem, the emotions leaped off the page.
Her suitors, though many, do not compare
to the mate she will choose
but the one must be preened and sing to her
^^ that right there, is priceless. i hope you can continue with your outstanding words. -
Oooooh, superb piece of writing this!!! I love it. You really took the picture and interpreted it beautifully!
I love how you repeat this:
"but the one "
Really adds a bit of flair!
and then your last line:
"to catch the Raveness"
Really rounds off the poem brilliantly!
Thanks for your entry,
Luck.

Love your interpretation of the picture. No, he must not wait too long! If he does, he will miss the prize. Great read.
