goodbye to all the days that passed
hello in new friends we hope will last
goodbye to deeds that made a change
hello to life as we rearrange

goodbye to pain that made us weep
hello to the joy of what we reap
goodbye to the child began at the start
hello to the adult grown whole from the part

goodbye to heros that gave their all
hello to new ones who answer the call
goodbye to the nightmares sewn into the real
hello to the dreams of love that we feel

goodbye to the sadness, the longing, the tired
hello to the happy, the mission aspired
goodbye to dark powers that pulled at our soul
hello to the light fighting forward our goal

goodbye to lost leaders in every great nation
hello to new children, a brave generation 
goodbye to the evil that weaves hate and sorrow
hello to the bright mystery of tomorrow

goodbye to the wars we fight with each other
hello to embracing our gentle earth mother
goodbye to aggression we struggle to cease
hello to the notion of lasting world peace

out with the old an in with the new
let today be to the we from the you
yesterday is gone so just let it go
new horizons, goodbye, hello

    I love the way you wrote this, getting rid of the negative and embracing the positive is an outlook we all should have. It's a hard thing to do. Very good work.
