He loves me
But what does he think that means?
Hiding things I need to know
Or trusting me with everything?
He loves me not
I love him
I know what that means
It's not how he might feel
But it's more real than he sees
I love him
He loves me
Yet he can't understand who I am
He doesn't comprehend my beliefs
And I wonder if he ever will
He loves me not
I love him
Since I met him I have prayed
That he'll become who I know he can
But that choice is his alone
I love him
He loves me
But he cannot see the light
That God has set before him
Because he blinds himself to it and me
He loves me not
I love him
But my love is for his soul
It's lost but not abandoned
But he doesn't feel its pain
I love him
How can he say he loves me
How can I say I love him
If there is no understanding
Such polar opposites of faith
That to be together would bring more harm than good?
