Slamming the door,
You hit your head against something soft.
You're running
You hit your head again
This time it's prickly
You do it again
These trees are popping up
Endless and Relentless
You keep running
From what you don't know
But you know its after you
You spin and spot a shadow jump from behind one to branch to another
You turn back and throw yourself in the other direction
It leaps from the branch ahead of you
Everything slows down
You dig in your heel to try and stop yourself
But you cannot stop the momentum of your mind
The silhouette hits your head
You open your eyes
You snatch the cactus
and push your little brother out of your bedroom.
