Beneath the table,
after running from the shouts,
he gets caught by the girl,
but won't spit it out!
"Give me the cell phone!"
the girl screams in distress,
worrying her phone
is a slobbery mess.
The dog seems to grin
as he bites down- hard.
The girl hears a crack
and knows the cell phone is scarred.
Grabbing the edge of his jaws,
she squeezes, and look!
It drops right out,
the phone the dog took.
The dog trots off,
head and tail low.
He just lost a battle,
who knows where he'll go?
He goes straight to his cage,
and pouts, none the less.
He'll never beat those humans,
he's still not the best.
Someday the jaw trick won't work,
and the dog will win,
and the battle will begin
all over again.
But till that day and maybe past it,
I'll always love my fluffy pet,
and I'll still believe my puppy
is the best you can get!
