how long must we dance for you?
How long must we be your puppets -
puppets in the hands of masters of destruction.
Tie us down as we begin to fly
the ties that burn like chains
as we dance, dance, dance
in the arms of the institutional society.
How long must we dance to your sadistic beat?
How long must we let you lie to us - we're citzens not sheep.
how long must we breathe in the fumes of poison,
until we're all warped to a normal reality
clones of what you want us to be?
How long must we dance to the war drums?
How long must we be drafted away?
how long must we die on your terms,
apart from our loves and families?
How long must we dance this dance?
How long must we kill and lie?
Why must we watch the blood flow
when there could be peace instead?
Here we are a-dancing, our eyes peeled
to the TV set, as we watch death and destruction
that never leaves the news.
He told us that this was a good thing
brainwashed millions or more -
but i opened my eyes when he closed them
and i can see so much more.
So i wont dance to this drum beat
and i wont fight in that war
and you can try and tie me down with those chains
but i'll just rip them away with my creativity.
'Cause I will not reform, not for this society
and I pray for a revolution, and i try in this
institution, until i can be free once more.
I will not rot in the arms of the media nation
i will not buy into that fad.
I will not support and war thats wrong
and I will NOT REFORM.

This is an amazing write that sparked forth such rebellious emotion from myself. You've written it flawlessly with great flow, wonderful rhyme scheme. It kept me intrigued all the way through.

Awesome. I love it. You really captured the rebellious spirit. I can tell that you mean every word here. This poem is so much more than just another contest entry. You have a wonderful spirit, don't EVER let anyone "reform" you.
