Once like a great big fool
I was taken in by you.
Twice like a dog that's supposed to be
shy after being bitten once,
I didn't learn my lesson and
repeated my mistake.
Like the naive maiden of the myths,
one did not learn not to trust
that easily, over and over again.
Being hauled about by the collar
like the great prize bull being led to
manipulation by the one it trusts.
It's a fact, it's the truth,
it's the freakin' thing staring
me in the face. Yet, why can't I see it-
why am I still standing there, like the
great big fool believing the great big lie?

excellent
I liked all because emotion and decrsiption keep it up -
humm... sounds like a lot of emotions. you love them, but they have already hurt you, and not just once, twice. you want to go back, but afraid of being hurt. liked the poem. very well written.
