It seems I was in a coffin on that very special day,
And while asleep I think my mind had simply gone astray.
I dreampt about a man which fairies circled ‘round,
And magically, two doors just popped out of the ground!
And while I thought, “This is strange; I think something is wrong,”
The fairies started dancing, and chanting a queer song:
“Hail, Oh young Prince which to none can compare;
It’s time to choose with whom your crown will share.
Eternal sleep has bound two doors, and one you may pick:
The girl with skin as white as snow, or she who has been pricked?
Pick a door, and only one, whichever you may wish,
And there you shall find your bride, who wakens with a kiss!”
The prince sat in wonder a moment, then with a smile bright
Placed his hand on the handle of the door to his right.
The door sprang open, he took is horse, somewhere a raven crowed,
And suddenly he was in the middle of a road.
Still he rode on, and I knew the place where he came to,
It was a little house that was built somewhat askew.
‘Round back, there was an odd sight to which I could relate,
Seven dwarves were crying, kneeling next to a glass crate.
The prince had a look to see what in it would reside,
I tried to gasp (but I was sleeping) for it was me inside!
He opened up the box in which I was imprisoned,
Planted a kiss on my lips – The dream was real, and I had risen.
Author notes
I started with the chant that the fairies were saying. When I got to the "eternal sleep" part, I realized that two fairy-tale princesses woke with a kiss from Prince Charming, and I made the new beginning. Wow, it really mutated since I first had the idea...

A very good look at two classic fairy tales! Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are two of my favorites. I've always enjoyed fairy tale retellings, and you did an excellent job with the rhyming and imagery in your own version!
