Plighted words spoken
before witnesses…
before God
“til death…”
But time has corroded
those feelings
that hopeful beginning.
A thousand broken vows
have obliterated the meaning
of those words…
A thousand thoughtless
words have been
written in the ink
of pain and can’t be
unpublished.
Yet, we remain…
neither with the courage
to end what no longer exists
or the strength to start again.
Darkness has spread over
the contours of my
heart until it is now
a blank chalkboard
with no words of love
or hope visible..
It’s as if…
your name has not
been erased…
It was never written…

This is more like it! Here I see a bit of Ken. And I would never, ever say that this fits into the prompt of 'these thoughts are wrong'.
You could have been writing about me except I am slowly learning the courage and strength bit.
This is a really great write Ken, well done.
