Wings

Precious darling do not cry
Broken wings can learn to fly
I will place you in my nest
Loving care will do the rest.

Tender morsels I will bring
Hoping they will make you sing,
Songs of joy and happiness
As your feathers I caress.

Tears I'll capture as they fall
They become a waterfall
Beautiful, so crisp and clear
I will hold you, have no fear.

We will nestle in the trees
Resting in the gentle breeze
As the healing process starts
With the beating of two hearts.

Nice write. I like the flow and the emotion from the other bird -- or could be any mother.

    Excellent poem

Gwenevere, I am delighted by this poem. One of the lovers is the saint as she will take care of her lover to the end of time. She not only places her lover in her own nest, she also vows to feed him ("tender morsels") and caress his feathers. Even when he cries, she will capture them and hold him tight. I can imagine the lover drinking the tears for strength. I especially like the last stanza with your reference to the healing process and the beating of two hearts. I think these two are soul-mates, and if not soul-mates, it's not because the female lover in the poem did not try her best to capture the one she loves by complete attentiveness.
