Do you ever wonder why I wear long sleeves?,
And if I told you would you believe,

Why don't you ever offer to take me home?,
Hidden pain locked in this cage,
Like a lion waiting to release my rage,
Chained down at centre stage,
Spilling out my emotions on this page,

That maybe I'm in pain? maybe I'm too weak?
Why don't you offer to hold my hand?,
Wont you ever try to understand?

Or silence me when I scream and shout?,
Tell me that I'll be alright,
Sing me a lullaby to sleep at night,
Pick me up whenever I trip,
Release these scissors from my grip,
Teach me love's not just a word,
Tell me my silent cries have all been heard,
tell me this blades not my only friend,
bring my old habits to an end,
wake me up from this nightmare,

I look at this person and despise what I see,
before I realise that what I see is me.
