My gods have left me all alone
I'm hopeless here and on my own
There's no Apollo to warm my skies
No Ares fighting within my eyes
Aphrodite destroyed my love
Artemis dimmed the sky above
Poseidon left the rippling sea
And even Death abandoned me
My gods have left me all alone
I'm hopeless here and on my own
No chance at heaven or eternal bliss
No chance at hell or deals with Dis
I'm stuck on Earth, no chance to leave
I've lost everything that I believed
Even nature - it lost its light
With all I ever thought was right
You took my gods away from me
With words of hate and jealousy
And everything I thought I knew
You made me trade it all for you
But tell me: are you worth it?
Author notes
How ironic you should post this contest now. I just sadly lost my religion last week.

I really like this. My only suggestion would be to write more about the reason why you lost your religion. The way you have it, that is left shrouded in mystery, however if that was how you wanted it to be, then feel free to ignore me. Great poem and thank you for entering my contest.

Yeah it was all stuff my boyfriend said in a fight. Stupid but it kind of destroyed my faith. I just didn't feel like talking about the specifics, so I hope you don't mind the mystery.
Thank you for the compliment
